Mitsubishi EVO 4-9, 4G63 – 18 Tooth Trigger Wheel upgradeDirect replacement trigger wheel for Mitsubishi EVO 4-9 engines. Upgrades the stock trigger pattern for better compatibility with aftermarket ECUs.The Problem: Factory EVO 4-9 engines use a 2 tooth (low Resolution) trigger wheel that can cause triggering issues with aftermarket engine management, particularly at high RPM or during rapid throttle changes. The factory pattern isn’t ideal for standalone ECUs with most aftermarket systems triggering off both rising and falling edges to try give more resolution. The Solution: This 18 tooth trigger wheel gives your aftermarket ECU a more stable trigger signal with 1 tooth every 20 crank degrees. Giving better accuracy for both injector and ignition.Specifications: 18 teeth total 120mm diameter Can Be modified to 18-1 or 18-2 missing tooth pattern if desired Direct fit to EVO 4-9 crankshaft. Works with OEM Crank SensorFits: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV (EVO 4) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V (EVO 5) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI (EVO 6) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII (EVO 7) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (EVO 8) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX (EVO 9) 4G63 engines from these modelsImportant: Works with stock crank angle sensor – no sensor change required You will need to remove 1 tooth off the OEM Cam trigger. Requires an aftermarket ECU. This Won’t work on a retuned OEM ECU. This is a performance upgrade – not plug and play. Your tuner will need to recalibrate your ECU trigger settings. If you want missing tooth pattern for aftermarket ECU functions like Quick start, You will need to remove 1 or 2 teeth to create the missing tooth pattern (most ECUs prefer 18-1)Installation: Direct replacement for the factory trigger wheel. Remove stock wheel, install this one, remove 1 tooth off the cam trigger), then reconfigure your ECU trigger settings. Consult your ECU manual or tuner for correct trigger configuration. What’s Included: 1x 18 Tooth Trigger WheelNZ Wiring Stock: We keep these trigger wheels in stock in Petone, Wellington.
