Description Dioralyte Sachets are formulated to quickly replace lost fluids and body salts to rehydrate after diarrhoea or vomiting. They are more effective than water alone. Dioralyte contains a balance of essential body salts and glucose to help you absorb the body salts and water efficiently. You should use a Dioralyte sachet as soon as diarrhoea symptoms start and after each episode. DOSAGE: For oral use only. Take Dioralyte dissolved in 200 ml/7 fl oz of water. Always use fresh drinking water or freshly boiled and cooled water. Adults (including older people and children aged 12 years and over): Dilute one to two sachets of Dioralyte with 200ml/7 floz of water after every episode of diarrhoea. Children aged 2 years and over: Dilute one sachet of Dioralyte with 200ml/7 floz of water after every episode of diarrhoea. Infants aged 1 to 2 years: One to one and a half times the amount of fluid your baby normally has in 24 hours. If the diarrhoea has not improved within 24-36 hours, consult your doctor. If the baby is vomiting, give 5-10ml every 5 mins, increasing gradually until they can drink normally. You should seek medical advice before using Dioralyte for children under 2 years, or if the diarrhoea has lasted longer than 24-36 hours. Infants under 1 year: Should only be used on medical advice. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DIORALYTE: The solution should be made immediately before use and can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours or used within one hour if stored at room temperature. Always read the patient information leaflet. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you or your child are taking any other prescription medications, regular medicines, or receiving regular treatment. Keep out of reach of children. If the symptoms worsen or do not improve, or if other symptoms occur, consult a doctor. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine Do not exceed the stated dose; seek immediate medical advice in the event of an overdose. Like all medicines, Dioralyte can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you think you have any side effects or symptoms, stop using this medicine immediately and see a doctor as soon as possible. Ingredients: Each sachet contains: sodium chloride 0.47g, potassium chloride 0.30g, glucose 3.56g, disodium hydrogen citrate 0.53g.
