Description Senokot Syrup is an effective laxative that contains natural senna, a plant extract, which works by stimulating the muscles in the bowel. This medicine is clinically proven for short-term, occasional constipation and can work whilst you sleep to help get your body back in balance. Use for predictable overnight relief that works in 8-12 hours. How to use: For oral use only. Do not exceed the stated dose. Adults (including the elderly and children aged 12 years and over): The recommended dose is one to two 5 ml spoonfuls at night. Children under 12 years old: Not to be given except on medical advice. Where Senokot Syrup has been recommended it should be given as follows: Children 6 years old and older: One to two 5 ml spoonfuls at night. Children aged 2 to 6 years: Half to one 5 ml spoonfuls at night. New users should start with the lowest dose and if needed increase by half the initial dose each day. When you feel the medicine is working, gradually reduce the dose and stop. Not suitable for children under 12 years of age except under the guidance of a medical professional. Normally it is sufficient to take this medicine product up to two to three times a week. Use for more than 1 week requires medical supervision. Stimulant laxatives do not reduce the number of calories absorbed from food. This means they do not help with weight loss. Ingredients: Each 5ml of Senokot 7.5mg/5ml Syrup contains calcium sennosides equivalent to 7.5mg total sennosides (calculated as Sennoside B).
