Description Dulcolax tablets contain a medicine called bisacodyl. This belongs to a group of medicines called laxatives which are used for the relief of constipation by gently stimulating the muscles of the bowel (large intestine). This brings predictable, overnight relief from constipation, helping to return the body to its natural rhythm. Dulcolax tablets are gastro-resistant tablets which have a special coating that helps to ensure the medicine works only where it is needed. Use for predictable overnight relief that works in 8-12 hours. How to use: For oral use only. Adults & Children over 10 years: Take one or two tablets (5 or 10 mg) daily before bedtime. If you have not taken Dulcolax Tablets before, start with one tablet and increase to two if necessary. When your bowel regularity has returned to normal, the dose can usually be stopped. Children aged between 4 – 10 years: Dulcolax Tablets should only be given to children between the ages of 4 and 10 if recommended by a doctor. The usual dose for children is one tablet (5 mg) daily before bedtime. Not recommended for children under 4 years. Do not take every day for more than five days. If you need laxatives every day, or if you have abdominal pain which does not go away, you should see your doctor. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DULCOLAX TABLETS For oral use only. Always swallow Dulcolax tablets with water. Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you or your child are taking any other prescription medications, regular medicines, or receiving regular treatment. Seek immediate medical advice in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well. Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully. This medicine can cause side effects like all medicines, although not everybody gets them. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. If the symptoms worsen or persist during the use of the medicinal product or there is no bowel movement after three days, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Prolonged use without medical supervision may be harmful. For professional advice on medicines, always consult your pharmacist. Stimulant laxatives do not reduce the number of calories absorbed from food. This means they do not help with weight loss.
